WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY – 10/10/2024

PROFOH Headquarters, Washington DC – We are pleased to announce our participation at this year World Mental Health Day with a theme “It is Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace” This theme highlights various aspects of mental health at work, from workplace conditions and stress management to the importance of social inclusion and empowerment. We urge everyone including

PROFOH members to take simple actions on that day, these include: Simple Expression of Gratitude: Participate in Mindfulness Activities: Be a Source of Social Support and more.

PROFOH is a ranking member of the Coalitions of organizations that are committed to address mental health issues globally, led by UNICEF. To this end, we shall be participating in virtual experience, organized by UNICEF and the Coalitions ahead of World Mental Health Day. (Wednesday, 9th October at 8 a.m. CET Geneva) which will showcase the power of investing in child and youth mental health. Participants will journey to Armenia, Belize, Nepal, and Sierra Leone to witness how innovation and creativity are being used to tackle mental health challenges.

While another event is scheduled for Thursday, 10th October (9–10 a.m. ET New York / 3–4 p.m. CET
Geneva) to be hosted by the UN Global Compact and the Coalition, it will feature business leaders discussing the importance of caregiver mental health in the workplace and its impact on child and youth mental health.

We will also launch the first Business Influence Guide, created by UNICEF and the Coalition, which bridges
the gap between family-friendly policies and mental health. The guide includes practical case studies and
UNICEF’s expertise.

Finally, prioritizing mental health in the workplace is not just a one-day event: it is an on-going commitment that benefits everyone.
