Multi Stakeholder Hearing @ UNITED NATIONS
PROFOH Headquarters, Washington DC – We are pleased to announce our participation at the Intersession Multi Stakeholder Hearing for the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), scheduled for 28 October 2024, at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
Building on the discussions of previous Preparatory Committee process leading up to the first International Conference on Financing for Development held in Monterrey (March 2002), and then continues through the preparation and follow-up of the Financing for Development Conference in Doha (November 2008) and the Third Financing for Development Conference in Addis Ababa (July 2015).
This one-day event will bring together representatives of civil society, the private sector, academia, public development banks and United Nations and other intergovernmental organizations to present their expectations and highlight key issues FfD4 should tackle. The demand for broad and deep engagement from stakeholders across all sectors demonstrates the significance afforded to financing for development and the potential for FfD4 to deliver concrete results.
This intersession Multi-stakeholder Hearing will provide an opportunity for open discussions and proposals for evidence-based actions that FfD4 can consider to meet today’s financing challenges. In-depth substantive sessions will highlight a diversity of perspectives and ideas for the consideration of Member States in preparation for intergovernmental negotiations on the FfD4 outcome.
