An American missionary (Cliff Henry Jarrell) in Africa inspired a group of friends on the need to have an independent and innovative humanitarian organization that could respond on short notice to social and medical emergencies. One thing led to another and ultimately, Gbemuotor Kama, a Nigerian founded Professionals For Humanity (PROFOH) with Cliff Henry Jarrell in 1998 in the middle of Jesse fire disaster in Nigeria that claimed more than 10,000 lives That mission was supported by the Netherlands Embassy, South Africa High Commission and UNICEF. A few years later they were joined by Mr. Markus von- Have, a German with a great humanitarian disposition.
Since inception, our mandate has been to provide emergency services portfolio that consists of health, quality education, safe drinking water, poverty reduction interventions and Climate Sustainability around the world. Our global membership is about 10,000 professionals.

PROFOH’s headquarters is in Washington, D.C. United States while our operational base is located in Worthing / London, United Kingdom.
Since 1998, PROFOH and its partners have conducted several education missions in public and private schools; provided writing desks; awarded scholarships; donated medical equipment and supplies to several public and private hospitals in Ghana and Nigeria; provided hundreds of households with filters for safe drinking water; immunized more than 50,000 children against Polio; and performed over 20,000 bold surgeries and more than1.6 million out patients cases in all cases –is free- at no cost to the patients. In recent years, the organization has used our missions as a soft power to demand accountability and fight corruption in complex health sector situations in some of the communities we serve.
As an organization, we have organized world class summits and forums to recommend solutions to policy makers and respective governments on how to improve the underfunded public health sector and to create a better world.
