PROFOH Ghana Participated at Winneba Medical Mission
PROFOH Ghana participated in a medical mission organized by Non Governmental Organization called Ghana Make A Difference (GOMAD) with its partners from the United States. The mission was facilitated by PROFOH Ghana Board Chairman , Mr. Sylvester Parker–Allotey who is also the current Ghanaian Ambassador to Japan. The mission took place at Winneba Specialist & Trauma Hospital. The pre-mission meeting was held on the 25th Feb, 2017 and was led by our organization’s Vice Chair, Dr. Lorinda Liang and the Executive Director G.D. Kama, including Godwin Yevuyibor with the Administrator of the Hospital Dr. Richard Anougura and Chief Medical Director, Dr. Richard. The hospital directors briefed PROFOH team on the reason for the mission. They mentioned the hospital’s limitation in terms of bed space, considering the difficult cases the US team will handle. At the end of mission, hundreds of people were seen and treated, and about 20 surgeries were performed. Another mission is planned for June 2017
